The Snapshot Method

Exploratory Hypnotic Trance

When intellectual understanding and talk therapy fall short, we use exploratory hypnotic trance. Think of this as the “search and rescue” phase of the Snapshot Method—a controlled, steady dive into the unconscious to hunt down the specific snapshots governing your behavior.

We achieve this by creating a secure state of focus. As we transition, we quiet the conscious chatter of the day, creating a safe haven that allows the unconscious mind to surface and speak in its own native language:

  • Vivid imagery and archetypal scenes
  • Physical sensations and somatic releases
  • Long-forgotten memories that surface
  • Sudden intuitive insights and “knowings”

My role as your guide – I do not merely facilitate; I lead. During the trance, I use deliberate, surgical questioning to guide us through your internal landscape. I am not looking for your theories or interpretations; I am looking for the origin. By steering the internal conversation, I ensure we stay on track until we hit the root of the issue. We invite your deeper wisdom to surface the truth, then we use that clarity as the foundation for our work.

How This Serves The Snapshot Method:

Hypnotic trance is the vehicle that transports us to the precise coordinates of your root-cause snapshots. Once we have isolated the target, the transformation begins immediately:

  • Discharge: We release the stuck emotional charge (fear, anger, sadness, shame, guilt, or hurt) that has kept the snapshot active
  • Update: We replace the outdated program with a new “snapshot” that reflects who you are today.
  • Anchor: We lock this new reality into your nervous system so it functions as your new default.

This is an active, investigative process. We don’t just “relax away” your problems—we go into the records, update the files, and ensure your system is running on accurate, present-day Truth.

Strategic Inquiry & Targeting

Most people arrive with a symptom: “I need to quit sugar,” or “I’m tired of this anxiety.”

Willpower fails because it treats the branch rather than the root. This initial phase is a tactical mapping session. We use deliberate, strategic questioning to move past your conscious explanations and locate the “snapshot” that is actually running the program.

Before we enter a trance, we sharpen the target:

  • What is the hidden cost of this habit? (What is it trying to protect you from?)
  • What is the true cost of maintaining this pattern?
  • Who is the version of you that exists once this constraint is removed?

This transforms a surface-level complaint into a precise target for our work, moving us from “trying to stop a habit” to “reclaiming an identity.”

How This Serves The Snapshot Method

This stage is the “intelligence gathering” that makes the hypnosis successful:

1.  Identifies the Target: It brings the underlying “snapshot”—the core belief about control, comfort, or self-worth—into sharp focus. We don’t just see the branch (the habit); we find the root.

2. Creates a Compelling “Why”: It connects the change to your deepest values (health, freedom, connection), giving your unconscious mind a powerful positive goal to align with, not just a negative behavior to avoid.

3.  Tunes the Communication: It allows me to understand how you think and speak, so when we enter the hypnotic state, my guidance resonates perfectly with your inner world.

This creates a partnership between your conscious desires and the work we do with your unconscious. We’re not just deleting an old file; we’re installing a new, compelling vision for your life that makes the change feel natural and inevitable.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Techniques

We don’t just “talk through” your problems; we target the way your mind stores the data of your life. Every “snapshot”—every memory, belief, or fear—is stored with a specific internal structure. If we change that structure, we dismantle the pattern.

We use these precise techniques to strip the power away from the snapshots that keep you stuck. This allows us to:

  • Neutralize Intensity: Drain the emotional charge from irrational fears and triggers
  • Break the Loop: Interrupt the “background apps” of self-sabotage that play on repeat.
  • Update the Script: Rewrite the internal language that keeps limiting beliefs locked in place.
  • Install New Versions: Anchoring the confidence and clarity you need to operate at your best.

How This Serves The Snapshot Method:

This isn’t an optional “add-on” or a slow analysis; it is the primary way I perform the “Find & Replace” operation on your unconscious. Once we isolate a root-cause snapshot, we use these techniques to rapidly disassemble the old format.

You don’t have to keep “processing” a memory for months. By accessing the structural code of your mind, we can effectively neutralize the charge in minutes, making the shift feel immediate, concrete, and lasting.

Lineage & Life Pattern Analysis

Sometimes the “snapshot” driving your life wasn’t taken by ‘you’—it was inherited. When a pattern feels stubborn or “foreign,” we use this method to map the hidden coordinates of your history.

(Note: We draw upon the research framework of Recallhealing.com to understand how unresolved conflicts shape our current patterns.)

If we hit a deeper layer during our sessions, we use this framework to look beyond your current day-to-day experience:

● The Life Timeline: Identifying the specific “shocks” or pivotal turning points from birth to the present.

● The Project Purpose: Understanding the emotional climate surrounding your conception and early life—the “blueprint” you were born into.

● Ancestral Lineage: Pinpointing recurring themes, family stories, or unresolved patterns carried down through generations.

How This Serves The Snapshot Method:

We view the mind and nervous system as a single, interconnected record of your life. Often, what we label as a “habit” or “anxiety” is actually a survival program that was triggered by a past event or inherited as a strategy.

This analysis acts as a detective’s tool. It identifies the precise coordinates of the original root-cause snapshot. Once we have the “file” located, we move immediately to the transformation stage, using hypnotic and somatic techniques to release the charge, update the program, and recalibrate your system to the present.

Somatic Release

Not everything lives in words. Trauma, stress, and emotional “snapshots” are often stored directly in the body as tension, tightness, or unexplained sensations. Somatic release work completes the transformation by allowing the body to process what the mind has understood.

During exploratory trance, clients frequently notice sensations arising in specific areas—the chest, throat, stomach, or jaw. These are the physical echoes of the “snapshots” we’re working with. Instead of avoiding them, we welcome them as valuable information.

In a safe, supported space, we use gentle techniques to help your nervous system discharge this stored energy, including:

  • Directed Breathwork to create space and softness around held tension.
  • Natural Tremoring to allow the body to shake off stress organically.
  • Gentle Tapping or Movement to encourage energy to flow.
  • Psycho-sensory Techniques like Havening, using soothing touch to calm the amygdala and repattern emotional responses.

You are always in control of the pace. The goal is not a dramatic catharsis, but a respectful, gradual release—a collaboration with your body’s innate wisdom.

How This Serves The Snapshot Method:

Somatic release is an essential step. We can identify and reprocess a “snapshot” in the mind, but if the body continues to hold the tension, the change is incomplete.

This work ensures the transformation is fully integrated. Once the emotional charge of an old snapshot is released from the nervous system, the body’s alarm system can finally reset. The loop is broken. The thought, the feeling, and the physical sensation are all updated in unison.

This is why I integrate somatic awareness into all my work. Lasting change isn’t just a mental shift; it’s a whole-system upgrade.

The Science Behind Somatic Release

The trembling or shaking that can occur during somatic release is not a sign of something going wrong. It is a sign of something going right—your body is doing what it is designed to do to complete a stress cycle and return to balance.

This innate mechanism is often called the neurogenic tremor. Here’s how it works:

1. The Survival Response (Fight/Flight/Freeze):
When you perceive a threat, your body prepares for action. Your muscles tense instantly, ready to fight or flee. If action isn’t possible, you might freeze. This is a brilliant survival strategy.

2. The Unfinished Cycle:
In modern life, we often can’t complete this biological sequence. You can’t fight your boss or run away from a traffic jam. So, the high-energy charge of survival energy—the tension ready for action—gets trapped in your body. This is the basis of trauma and chronic stress.

3. The Body’s Natural Release Valve:
Animals in the wild spontaneously shake after a life-threatening event. You’ve likely seen a dog shiver after a fight or a near-accident. This shaking is the nervous system’s way of discharging the excess energy that wasn’t used for fighting or fleeing. It’s a biological reset button.

4. How We Facilitate It:
In a safe, supported setting, we allow this natural process to occur. By gently bringing awareness to areas of tension and using specific exercises, we give the body permission to tremble. This shaking:

  • Dissipates the trapped nervous energy.
  • Signals the amygdala (the brain’s alarm center) that the threat is over.
  • Calms the nervous system, moving it from a state of high alert (sympathetic) to safety and relaxation (parasympathetic).

In short, tremoring is your body’s ancient, innate wisdom taking over to heal itself. It’s not something we make happen; it’s something we allow to happen by creating safety. This is why somatic release is such a powerful complement to the mental reprocessing work we do—it ensures the body is included in the healing.
